The trillion dollar purchasing power of African-American consumers in America is the largest asset the Black community holds.

Black buying power in America's retail marketplace is very powerful. In fact, according to a 2020 Neilson's Consumer Report titled The Power of the Black Community - From Moment to Movement marketing geared toward African-American buyers cost companies approximately $3.8Billion in 2019. The efforts Corporate America take to make sure Blacks remain an economic part of it's capitalistic system is also evidenced by the multi-million dollar endorsement deals given to rappers, athletes and other Black celebrities.

Whether it is an R&B singer crooning about eating a McDonald's burger or footwear designed by athletes; white America is hard-pressed to keep Black dollars in their pocket.

Many Black businesses face barriers accessing our Black purchasing power. Our marketing efforts, a key driver for business success, normally consist of posting on our personal social media pages, shout-outs from friends & family and local word of mouth.

Responsible for generating about $41Billion in revenue in the retail trade sector in 2017, Black-owned businesses do not go unnoticed and many are thriving despite. However, 99.99% of Black-owned businesses are a far-cry from being traded on the S&P 500.

To help ease this barrier, JustasIam.Careers has made this list of platforms dedicated to supporting Black-Owned businesses and Black retail sellers.
