Who All Gone Be There?: Candidates for the U.S. Presidential Election of 2024
By Melisha Daniels - July 22, 2024Joe Biden, the current United States president has decided to withdraw from contention to be the nation’s 47th President of the United States.
With Joe Biden’s sudden, but somewhat expected, withdrawal from the current rat race that is the 2024 lineup of presidential candidates we are left to ask ourselves the most pertinent question Black America asks before heading to any gathering. Who all gone be there?
Before we get into this, let’s look at what it takes to hold the highest position in the land.

In 2024, the year of Katt Williams, we have learned the Office of U.S. President is a background friendly position. While there are no specific educational requirements to be the leader of the Free World, Article 2, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution says that potential candidates must at least be;
- Natural born citizen or a U.S. citizen at time of application;
- 35 years of age or older
- and have maintained a U.S. residency for at least 14 years
Section 2 says that a person can be removed from office if they are impeached or convicted of treason, bribery or high crimes and misdemeanors.
In addition, Section 3 of the 14th Amendment disqualifies presidency for those found to have engaged in insurrection or rebellion or given aid or comfort to enemies of the U.S.
And without mentioning any names, if, by chance, you have a candidate who may or may not have dibbled or dabbled in insurrection and/or rebellion-ish activities, the whole rebellion as a disqualifier thing can be removed by two-thirds of a vote from Congress.
Ballotpedia.org explains that there are 3 ways a person can become a presidential candidate; nomination by a political party, run as an independent by petitioning each state or as a ballot write-in candidate. Potential candidates must also meet state specific requirements and deadlines to have their name on the ballot.
So who all coming?
